“A rocket launch you'll never forget!”

I joined RST in 2016 as an electrical engineering student - and immediately dove into an exciting field of work: In the Advanced Systems division, RST develops and manufactures high-tech simulators, for example, for training aircraft crews or for safely testing new aviation applications on the ground. I was able to write my thesis in this very environment. As a result, I was closely involved in product development from the very beginning and gained experience that has had a major impact on my future career path.
After completing my studies, I not only remained with RST but also stayed loyal to this division when I joined the company full-time. My focus was initially on so-called “door trainers” for aircraft crews. In this role, I was involved in the entire lifecycle of the systems - from development and integration through delivery and commissioning to user training and subsequent maintenance.
At the same time, I had the opportunity to support the development of electrical equipment for Airbus aircraft. This allowed me to gain valuable experience, as the diverse projects are characterized by very high technical requirements and demand close coordination with customers.
As my experience grew, so did my responsibilities: I became a project manager and discovered that I really enjoy the combination of technical challenges and organizational responsibility that comes with a project.
My personal career highlight so far, however, stems from the fact that RST is active not only in aviation but also in other exciting industries. For example, in the space sector, I was involved in the development of the Ariane 6 launch system - a project that required high-precision work, absolute reliability, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I’ll certainly never forget experiencing the rocket’s maiden launch into space - and knowing that I played a part in it.
And what else excites me about RST? Aside from the technically demanding and varied work environment, it’s definitely the proximity to the water. I love spending my free time on or near the water - it’s just a perfect fit!
